A natural form of healing

Acupuncture is a natural form of healing within the framework of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It provides a complementary and alternative therapeutic intervention to conventional medicine.

Acupuncture promotes the natural-self healing process in the body by stimulating specific anatomic sites commonly referred to as acupuncture points. These points are most commonly stimulated through inserting thin sterile needles into the skin, but can also be used in combination with manual massage, cupping, and the application of Chinese herbs.

“The natural flow of Qi is fundamental to the health and balance of the body and mind.”

Based on Ancient Philosophy

The theory of acupuncture is based on the ancient philosophy that energy or “Qi” in the body flows along 12 main channels known as “meridians”.

The natural flow of Qi is fundamental to the health and balance of the body and mind.

When the Qi is blocked or disrupted it causes imbalances in our body which can cause pain, lack of function, and illness. Acupuncture aims to correct these imbalances of Qi in the body.

Improving Overall Wellness

Acupuncture can address several different conditions as it affects every major system in the body. Studies have shown that Acupuncture can stimulate the release of pain-relieving endorphins, influence the release of neurotransmitters (substances that transmit nerve impulses to the brain), effect changes in the autonomic nervous system and stimulate circulation.
Acupuncture can address many ailments including but not limited to: a variety of pain conditions such as migraines, auto-immune diseases, depression, anxiety, insomnia, infertility, gastro-intestinal disorders such as IBS and Crohn’s Disease, acne, addictions and weight management. It can also assist with relaxation and improve overall wellness.
